Designing your Nursery!

Below are my five essentials for a Nursery. The pretty things added are the bonus. These five things will take you through your first two years!

  1. CRIB
  2. DRESSER/CHANGING STATION
  3. DIAPER PAIL
  4. NURSING CHAIR
  5. IMMOBILIZED ENTERTAINMENT CENTER
The Crib was purchased from Target and the Cream Sherpa Anywhere Chair® and all of the bedding was purchased from Pottery Barn Kids.
All of the bedding was purchased from Pottery Barn Kids!
  1. CRIB- I recommend purchasing a convertible crib. Our crib is a 7-in-1 that will eventually convert to a full-size bed should we choose. The pro to this crib is that it will last a long time and is quite sturdy. The Con is that assembly was required. At 9 months pregnant my husband and I put together the crib and matching changing table. In hindsight, I wish that I would have purchased a crib set that was assembled. If you can afford it, it is worth the extra money. Unfortunately, being a student, we chose to save the extra.

2. DRESSER W/ CHANGING TABLE I definitely recommend getting a dresser that has an attachment for a changing table. The Delta Children set that we purchased has an attachable changing table. It was securely fastened to the dresser and was able to be removed once she started rolling over. The pro to this dresser is that it is beautiful and sturdy. The con is once again, assembly is required.

3. DIAPER PAIL– I without hesitation recommend the UBBI Diaper pail. OMG! It is amazing. No foul baby diaper smells and its super cute and stylish!

This is not the color we purchased. Our’s is hot pink lol, but it is the same brand: https://amzn.to/3sekjLc

4. NURSING CHAIR– This was by far the best big girl purchase that I made during my pregnancy. As a nursing mom, this, to me, is non-negotiable. There is still no better place in my house to nurse baby girl than the chair in her room. I grab the boppy (if she’s sleepy), prop her up, and nurse her. I love it! The pro is that this chair is neutral and is nice and sturdy. Additionally, I love that it swivels and reclines. The con is that this chair was on the more expensive side. I still chose it because it was well worth its price, in my opinion. Nursing can be difficult. Having a wonderful and comfortable place to nurse your baby is a must!

5. IMMOBILIZED ENTERTAINMENT CENTER– Ok, so there is a lot of controversy about walkers. Our pediatrician recommended not purchasing a walker for our little one. They informed us, as parents, that mobilized walkers do NOT help your baby walk any faster. We chose to instead purchase an immobilized entertainment center. We chose the SkipHOP 3-Stage Interactive Activity Center. The pro is that this entertainment center turns into a table for your toddler. You can also purchase matching chairs. So cute. The con is that it is on the expensive side. It isn’t a cheap investment, but it is so worth it if you can!
